Stafford Masie has 30 Years of IT Industry Experience with an extensive career in the IT and digital innovation sectors, including leadership roles at global companies like Google, WeWork, Novell, and Dimension Data. He worked as a Global Corporate Technology Strategist at Novell's HQ in Utah, USA for 7 years and later founded and established Google’s presence in South Africa..

When Stafford was introduced to Bitcoin in 2014 he was knee deep in building a Tradfi startup, inventing the thumbzup Payment Pebble, a world-first solution that expanded globally after Visa Inc. invested in the company.

He is a technology angel investor in several leading pre-seed startups, served on the board of Discovery Bank, CSIR, Advtech & chairman of the Wits University Innovation Lab, is also chairman of the board at Altvest Capital, Executive Chairman of the Africa Bitcoin Corporation (Africa’s first BTC Treasury Company listed on the JSE), Co-founder of BitMach (a Bitcoin mining company), an independent “crypto” advisor to several regulatory bodies in South Africa, and Guest (MBA) lecturer at GIBS, UJ School of Business, and Henley Business Schools.
